The top 3 relaxation tips I'd focus on during contractions if I was in labour right now
If you’re here for actionable birth tips you can use starting right now, you’ve come to the right place. Here are my top 3 things I'd focus on to relax my body during contractions and help support labour if I was doing it right now:
Face: think about the spot in between your eyebrows and also your jaw/mouth. Try to keep these areas as relaxed as possible during contractions (think floppy face floppy fanny lol)
Shoulders: drop them away from your ears, when we are tense we often scrunch our shoulders up which forces our body to hunch and our breathing to become more shallow.
Hands: unclench the fists
These three relaxation areas help us to focus on our breathing, allow the body to freely move without tension and help support us to stay away from the Fear, Tension, Pain cycle (more on that soon).
